Massage Finder: selected image-policy records Historical April review (the policy has since evolved): ## 2026-04-17 - Exact-business image rule tightened ### Scope - tighten listing-card imagery so each listing uses: - one exact business image when the business website exposes a usable photo - otherwise a single generic massage-room fallback ### Exact-business images added in this pass - `ajax-massage-therapy-and-acupuncture-emilie-hamel-rmt-ajax` - source page: `https://www.emiliehamelrmt.com/` - `ajax-ripple-effect-massage-therapy-wellness-in-ajax-on-rmt` - source page: `https://rippleeffect.pro/` ### Policy adjustment - removed the previous category fallback that reused other businesses' photos - listing cards now use: - the listing's own approved image if present - otherwise the generic massage-room fallback in `public/reference/citylisting/hero-spa.jpg` ### Current state - `DirectoryListingImage` count: `7` - exact-business image harvesting is now running listing-by-listing from first-party websites only Current image-policy excerpt: ## Fallback Images When a listing has no approved photo, the public UI may use a licensed stock or branded fallback visual instead of borrowing a city, venue, or treatment-room image from an unapproved source. Fallback visuals must: - identify illustrative imagery through accurate alt text and a shared visible footer note; per-photo badges are omitted at the user's request - avoid implying they are real venue or business photos - use accurate accessibility labels - avoid scraped images, remote image URLs, and unlicensed third-party media - preserve source/license notes for any stock or Creative Commons media The September 14 photo review excluded `pexels-3998022.webp` (prayer flags) and `pexels-7176305.webp` (a group meeting) from listing fallbacks. The flags photo is now removed from public assets and from explicit guide records as well as fallback mappings. The pricing and RMT comparison guides use distinct custom editorial illustrations with documented provenance. Approved business media takes priority on homepage, search and related cards, including gallery-only approved photos. Mapped city images may be used for city landing cards and city hero areas only when the image is approved for that city. Unmapped cities must use branded city-guide fallbacks rather than a Toronto/default city image.
